The Rpg Game and the website are majority finished. All that is left to do is to polish up the looks and try to revaluate any mistakes and errors that shall arise. This project allowed me to learn and understand the language of python . This has greatly increased my knowledge on computer languages and how they work. It also gave me a new way of viewing a problem. To mechanically to
Today I added a talk mechanic to the game. It is with the npc called Prisoner , the character you need to save. This will give a hint to what the player needs to do to complete his quest. This adds another layer to the game making it even more interactive and helps to submerge the player even more into the game. Giving the player a feel that they have more choice with what they can do in the game.
Today I will create a flow chart based on the Pseudo Code which I did a few days ago. I will have to remember the different appropriate symbols used for pseudo code terms such as Terminal , sub process ,decision ect.
I have started to write up the basic Pseudo Code for the main process which I are seen throughout the Rpg's Code. Throughout my pseudo code I have to use multiple terms such as IF , CASEWHERE , ELSE and more. It is an interesting challenge to simply what the main code is trying to do , into a Pseudo Code .
I created the main objective of the Game. It is to save the character in one of the rooms. You shall have to find a key which is in one of the other rooms. I made the 'key' working through the inventory system which I have set up at the moment. It works fine. I also added the sounds of footsteps in-between each move to add some audio effect .
I have started to try to code a basic combat. There will be a few options which will be available to the player during combat. I am trying to make the game more interesting by adding random attack values and others. I have run into a few errors in the syntax and placing this parallel to the main code.
I am starting to code the basic map for the game. I am using dictionaries as suggested by "Using Python."I have a few rooms set up for the moment which you can traverse between. I have made it so that when you move into a new room, the game shall tell you which room you are in. I have also draw up the basic finished map for my own sake to help me understand the layout of the full map
I have started to work on the code. I have created a basic template for the start up menu which I may improve in the future.I have also wrote the basic instructions/commands for my Rpg. Through the menu you may access the basic instructions , you can end the game and you can start the game.
After training to use python through different websites such as "Using Python" and "Grok" I have learnt the basics needed to create a game with python coding. I have started to develop the main idea of my game. It shall be an text based Rpg game. The title of the game I am still working on , but I think I shall called the kingdom in which the game shall take place will be Leri. It will be a medieval aged Rpg where you shall have to go through a jail/dungeon . There you shall find different items and you will have to battle your way through enemies.
As I am new to the coding in general I must first spend some time to understand the code. I am learning the syntax and how to use the different command lines in Python. This shall be the platform on which I shall be creating my Game for my first Software Design and Development task.
